Tasting – Mocanal Parcela El Reventón Ecológico, 2021

A rare bottle from Finca Mocanal on Gran Canaria

This bottle is one out of 300 bottles that was produced from a small field on Finca Mocanal. It’s a 100% Listan Negra aged in French oak.

The wine is full body and with plenty of character. The wine is balanced with a pleasant aroma and taste, it has both the characteristics  of the Listan Negra grape and the French oak – indeed a good combination that offers complexity. The wine has notes of oak, earth, red fruit, stone, rosted grass or maybe hay. The wine starts of to feel spicy and big, in the end a slight bitter feel stays in the back of the mouth.

It was a pleasure to drink this rare wine. Unfortunately, I bought the last bottle from the batch, so I suppose the next chance to taste this wine will be next year.

Cheers,

Gustaf
